Who are we?

LV= has a long and distinguished past.  In 1843 when there was no NHS, no old age pension and little support for the poor,  The Liverpool Independent Legal Victoria Burial Society  was set up to enable people of limited means to bury their loved ones with dignity.  Today it is the UK’s largest Friendly Society.

 

Some facts

  • In 1843  we collected a modest £648 in premiums.  Today our assets under management exceed £8.2 billion.
  • As a mutual we don’t have any shareholders’ – which means we exist wholly for the benefit of our members - and we have 2.5 million of them!
  • We have 2,400 employees across the country in offices in London, Croydon, Bristol, Huddersfield and Bournemouth.
  • We offer a broad range of products and services including; savings, investments, life insurance, home and motor insurance, banking and financial advice. This breadth ensures we are ideally placed to meet our members' financial needs.
